PIUK Code of Conduct
The purpose of having the code of conduct is to ensure that each and every member of PIUK are aware and abide by the requirements set out to maintain professionalism and consistency within this organisation. Each member must familiarise themselves with theses requirements as they will be enforced. The objective is to create moral understanding, consistent professional standards and respect between agents.
Any member who refrains from upholding or supporting these standards may have their membership terminated without notice.
PIUK Members agree...
- To carry out all investigations, associated instructions and allied matters with integrity and within the acceptable legal, professional and moral guidelines. Each member should observe and familiarise themselves with the relevant laws and regulations pertaining to the assignment they undertake.
Each member must abide by the laws and regulations defined by the Information Commissioners Offices when dealing with all matters and members of PIUK
- Every member must have a client's undertaking that all information provided by members is for lawful use only.
- Each member of PIUK and any employees of members or agencies or others assisting in an investigation must abide by the the Codes of Conduct.
- Each member must always offer assistance to all regulatory and legal authorities when required to do so by law.
- Members of PIUK must only carry out services for which they are qualified and/or competent.
Refer any discrepancies between members to the chair of PIUK or a nominated Manager, who will assist in dealing with the issue based on facts and whose decision will be accepted as binding. All matters presented to PIUK will receive a response from PIUK within 2 working days.
Memebrs of PIUK must never misrepresent or exaggerate the activities and services offered by the profession or the services offered by the organisation, PIUK.
- A member must not refere to PIUK as a governing body or an association of authority.
- Members must, at all times, protect the reputation of other members, their clients, PIUK and the Profession/Industry in general.
- A member must never approach another members client for the purpose of financial gain without their knowledge. (Poaching will not be tolerated)
No member shall belittle or publicly announce slanderous comments or humiliate another member which may cause damage to the other member/agent/agency.
- Deal professionally in all matters with discretion, courtesy and confidentiality within ethical constraints.
- Not deny any professional services to any client for any reasons of race, colour, religion, sex, handicap, sexual preference or national origin.
The Association and it's Members, Associates and Affiliates shall at all times conduct all Business Matters with integrity and make payment of all properly presented Supplier Bills promptly within agreed or stipulated payment terms, excepting any genuine complaint which should be resolved as quickly as reasonably possible
